Best IPTV Italy for UK Expats 2026: Top 3 Compared
QueenIPTV guide: Best IPTV Italy for UK expats in 2026: QueenIPTV, KenoaTV and Televo compared on UK channels, prices, Sky Stream and Italy's piracy law.
Finding the best IPTV Italy for UK expats can trust is harder than it looks, because Italy is now the strictest country in Europe on TV piracy. Since 2025 the Guardia di Finanza has fined thousands of ordinary viewers, not just the people selling streams, and British residents in Tuscany, Puglia, Le Marche or the lakes are being sold Sky Stream boxes and "UK TV" packages with very different legal footing. This guide compares three IPTV services that carry British TV channels, explains what Italian TV and official streaming services already offer in English, and shows what to check before you pay. Every price was checked on 21 October 2026.
Quick answer: QueenIPTV is our pick for British expats in Italy. One connection costs £11.99 for a month or £49.99 for 12 months, its channel page lists 1,765 UK channels and 191 Italian channels (the provider's own counts), and the free trial runs 36 hours with no card, extendable twice to about 4.5 days. KenoaTV is the same catalogue billed in US dollars, and Televo is a UK alternative with a 7-day money-back guarantee. Whatever you choose, read the Italian legal section first.
Editorial disclosure
QueenIPTV publishes this article and sells IPTV subscriptions, so we rank our own service first. KenoaTV is a related service. Prices, trial terms and channel counts were checked on each provider's official website on 21 October 2026. Channel and VOD counts are the providers' own claims, and we have not run independent speed or uptime tests in Italy.

What is IPTV?
IPTV (internet protocol television) sends live TV channels and on-demand programmes over your internet connection instead of a satellite dish or aerial. The provider gives you login details (an M3U link or Xtream Codes) by email, you enter them in a player app on your smart TV, TV box or phone, and the app shows live channels, an electronic programme guide (EPG) and, where offered, catch-up. You need only a stable broadband line, not a dish on a condominio roof.
How to watch UK TV in Italy: the options
Expats usually try four ways to watch British television in Italy, and each has trade-offs in price, picture quality and legal risk.
1. BBC iPlayer, ITVX and UK apps
BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4 and My5 only work in the UK, and a UK TV Licence does not unlock iPlayer abroad. BritBox International operates in countries such as the USA, Canada, Australia and the Nordics, but we found no sign of it in Italy, so you cannot watch BritBox in Italy through an official Italian sign-up.
2. Sky Stream boxes for Italy: the Sky Stream service sold to expats
Search for "UK TV in Italy" and most results sell Sky Stream: a UK Sky Stream puck plus a VPN router, shipped to Italy, so that British TV and Sky Sports work over the internet without a satellite dish. Sellers say no UK address is needed. Sky's own position is different: Sky UK only supplies service to UK and Irish addresses, and Sky has said Sky Stream is designed to be used at the subscription address, so a UK Sky Stream service will not work behind a non-UK IP address. Using a Sky Stream puck abroad through a VPN breaches Sky's terms, the Sky Stream service can stop working when Sky detects the VPN, and the account can be closed, often with the box, router and prepaid package lost. Sky Italia is a separate company: it launched its own Sky Stream in Italy on 3 June 2024, but with Italian channels and Italian commentary, not the UK line-up.
3. Satellite dish (Freesat)
UK free-to-air channels come from the Astra satellites at 28.2°E, whose UK beam is aimed tightly at Britain. In Italy you need a very large satellite dish, and expat reports from Tuscany describe dishes of up to two metres that still received only some channels. Satellite reception gets worse the further south you live, so this route rarely works well below Florence.
4. A UK IPTV service
An IPTV subscription delivers BBC, ITV, Channel 4, British news and sport over broadband to any device, anywhere in Italy. It is the most practical route, but you must check how the provider licenses its channels, because Italy fines viewers of unauthorised streams (see the legal section).
English channels on Italian TV: what Rai and Italian television offer
Free Italian TV is almost entirely in Italian. Rai 1, Rai 2, Rai 3, Rai Premium and the Mediaset channels are free on digital terrestrial (DTT) with an aerial and on Tivùsat, Italy's free satellite platform, and RaiPlay and Mediaset Infinity stream them free online in Italy (access from abroad can be limited by territorial rights, so Rai shows may not play when you visit the UK). There are no full English channels on free Italian TV, although some films and series on pay services offer original-language audio. International news channels and English-language services such as Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+ fill part of the gap, and Pluto TV Italia offers free themed channels, but none of these carry BBC One, ITV1 or UK regional news. Rai 1 and Rai 2 are still worth having: Italian news, Serie A highlights and Rai documentaries are a good way to learn the language, and RaiPlay gives free access to Rai programs and TV series on demand.
How we chose the best IPTV for UK expats in Italy
- UK channel range: BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky Sports, TNT Sports and British news, with a reliable EPG.
- Italian channels: Rai and Mediaset in the same app helps with language learning and family members.
- Price and billing: one payment in pounds or dollars, no contract, no automatic renewal.
- Trial and refund terms: enough time to test peak hours on your Italian internet, plus a written refund policy.
- Devices: Android TV boxes, Fire TV Stick, Samsung and LG smart TVs, MAG and Enigma2 boxes, iOS and Android phones.
- Honest marketing: we marked down sellers who advertise "built-in VPN" or "anti-block" features, which in Italy are a warning sign.

2. KenoaTV: best for expats who pay in dollars
KenoaTV is QueenIPTV's sister service, priced in US dollars on kenoatv.uk. It carries the same UK, Italy and US groups and suits mixed British-American households. Its own guide to IPTV in Italy covers Italian channels for viewers outside the UK.
KenoaTV pricing (one connection, checked 21 October 2026)
| Plan | Price |
|---|---|
| 1 month | $13.99 USD |
| 3 months | $34.99 USD |
| 6 months | $59.99 USD |
| 12 months | $99.99 USD |
| 24 months | $169.99 USD |
Key features
- The same 36-hour no-card trial, extendable twice, and the same refund rule.
- A 7,280-channel USA group next to the UK and Italian lists.
Things to consider
A euro or sterling card may add a currency fee.
3. Televo: UK alternative with a money-back guarantee
Televo lists 1-month £12.99, 3-month £24.99, 6-month £34.99, 12-month £49.99 and 24-month £79.99 plans, with up to five connections at checkout. Its homepage advertises a 7-day money-back guarantee, no auto-renewal and instant activation, and claims 34,000+ live channels and 195,000+ movies and series. These are the seller's own claims.
Things to consider
Televo advertises a "built-in VPN" and "anti-block" streaming. In Italy, where the regulator AGCOM can order blocks within 30 minutes, that is a red flag rather than a feature. We found no free trial on its homepage.

Premier League and Serie A in Italy
Football is the main reason expats look for British TV. Sky Italia holds the Premier League rights in Italy through 2027–28 and can show up to 10 games per round on its linear channels, in Italian. In Serie A, DAZN holds the rights to every match, and Sky co-broadcasts three games per round. Sky Italia and DAZN Italia are separate subscriptions with Italian commentary. See our best IPTV for the Premier League guide.
What to watch: entertainment and sport for the whole home
The best UK TV package for Italy is one that covers everything your household watches, not just the football. Before you subscribe, list the channels and content you use most:
- News: BBC News, Sky News and regional news, plus Rai news.
- Entertainment: BBC One, ITV1, Channel 4 and 5 for TV series, soaps and Saturday-night shows.
- Sport: Sky Sports and TNT Sports for the Premier League, plus Italian sports channels for Serie A and Formula 1.
- Documentaries and films: documentaries, movies and on-demand programming.
- Kids: CBeebies and CBBC keep English strong for children at Italian schools.
Test each during the trial at peak viewing time. Picture quality, how fast channels change and how accurate the EPG is tell you more about the experience than any channel count.
Time difference and EPG settings
Italy is one hour ahead of the UK all year, because both countries change their clocks on the same dates (the next change is 25 October 2026). A 3pm kick-off in England starts at 4pm in Italy, and the BBC News at Ten at 11pm. Set the EPG offset to Italian time.
UK and Europe: where else this applies
The same checks apply across the EU. Our guides for British expats in Europe and UK expats in Spain cover Spain's LaLiga blocking and other differences.
Buying guide: the best way to choose
- Test on Italian fibre. TIM, Fastweb, Vodafone, WindTre and Iliad sell fibre in towns, but rural properties often rely on FWA wireless or slower lines. Plan on 15 to 25 Mbps per HD stream.
- Start with a short plan. Move to 12 months only when the service has worked through a weekend of football.
- Avoid "no address needed" Sky deals. If the account is closed, prepaid fees are usually lost.
- Check the payment method. Card payment gives you more protection than a bank transfer to a stranger.
- Check your inbox. Login details arrive by email, so check the spam folder if nothing arrives within minutes.
- Count devices. Each connection is one stream; plug-and-play TV box setups for a second home need their own connection.
Setup on a smart TV, TV box or Fire TV Stick
- Start the trial and wait for your login details by email.
- Install an IPTV app: IPTV Smarters Pro or TiviMate on Fire TV and Android boxes, IBO Player on Samsung or LG smart TVs, or a MAG portal. Our Firestick guide has the steps.
- Enter the M3U link or Xtream Codes details.
- Load the EPG, set the time offset, and add BBC One, ITV1 and your Italian channels to favourites.
- On iOS and Android phones, use the same login details in a mobile app when you travel within Italy.
Buffering tips
- Use Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi, and keep the TV box near the router; thick stone walls block Wi-Fi. 4K UHD streaming needs a steady 18 to 25 Mbps.
- Lower the stream from 4K to HD in the evening if the line is busy.
- Restart the router after summer storms or power cuts.
- In the app, switch players or raise the buffer size.
Is IPTV legal in Italy?
IPTV technology is legal, and licensed services such as RaiPlay, Sky and DAZN use it. Unauthorised IPTV is not, and Italy enforces this against viewers. Under Law 93/2023, the Guardia di Finanza identified and fined more than 2,200 viewers across 80 provinces in March and April 2025, with fines of €154 to €1,032 and up to €5,000 for repeat offenders, according to TorrentFreak. DAZN and Serie A then asked many of the same people for civil damages of €500 and €1,000. The same law created Piracy Shield, which lets AGCOM order internet providers to block streams within 30 minutes, and in February 2025 AGCOM extended those orders to VPN and DNS providers. AGCOM fined Cloudflare €14 million in December 2025 for not complying. Using a VPN in Italy is not illegal for individuals, but it does not make an unlicensed stream legal.
Before you subscribe to any IPTV service, ask the provider in writing how it licenses its channels for viewers in Italy. If you have a TV in Italy, the canone Rai (€90 a year, usually added to the electricity bill) applies whatever you watch; a UK TV Licence covers UK addresses only.

Italian free TV is in Italian. English options are pay services with original audio, international news channels, streaming apps, or a UK IPTV subscription.
Are there any English channels on Italian TV for free?
No full English channels are free on Italian DTT or Tivùsat. Some international news channels stream free online.
Can I watch BritBox in Italy?
We found no sign that BritBox International is available in Italy; its markets include the USA, Canada, Australia and the Nordics.
Can I watch BBC or ITV in Italy?
Not through iPlayer or ITVX, which are geo-blocked. An IPTV service or a large satellite dish are the usual alternatives.

Using a VPN is legal for individuals, but since 2025 AGCOM can order VPN and DNS providers to block pirate streams within 30 minutes.
What are the main TV channels in Italy?
Rai 1, Rai 2, Rai 3 and Rai Premium from Rai, Canale 5, Italia 1 and Rete 4 from Mediaset, plus La7. Sky Italia and DAZN are the main pay services.

Per chi vuole i canali del Regno Unito, QueenIPTV è la nostra scelta: 1.765 canali UK e 191 canali italiani dichiarati, prova gratuita di 36 ore senza carta.
L'abbonamento a IPTV è legale in Italia?
Final verdict
For British expats in Italy, the best setup is the one you can keep: a provider with a large UK channel range, Italian channels for daily life, honest billing and a long free test. QueenIPTV leads on UK coverage, sterling pricing and trial length, KenoaTV suits dollar payers, and Televo offers a money-back guarantee but leans on VPN marketing. Given how hard Italy enforces its piracy law, ask any provider about licensing before you pay.
